Australian Banksia integrifolia - This bush has large dull-green leaves that are white underneath. Flowers are yellow with thick dense spikes and strongly scented.

The Platypus (ornithorhynchus anatinus) has a soft duck bill, broad tail and webbed feet and is unique to Australia It and two species of echidna are the only egg laying mammals in the world. They have a venomous spur which can cause painful injury to humans. They are very shy and wary, only venturing out in the early morning and evening. The platypus is wholly protected in Australia.
