Pygmy Possums are tiny creatures about the size of mice. There are 7 different types of this little creature. Their main diet is nectar, pollen and insects. The Pygmy is mainly found in Victoria's southern end and Tasmania. This little marsupial has also been entered on the endanger list. It's main predators are the house cat and fox - both introduced species to this island.

The Australian Finch belongs to the family of birds known as Estrildidae. They are grass seed eating bird. Finches are not unique to Australia but they are very popular with bird breeders from around the world. It is believed finches were caught from the wild as far back as 1800's.

The Masked Owl can be found throughout the coastal fringe of Australia. In Tasmania though they are abundant throughout the island. These guys hunt mainly rodents, such as, rabbits, possums, birds, insects. They are one of the most powerful owls world-wide.

The Tawny Frogmouth's (Podargus strigoides) diet is mainly made up of creepie crawlie insects such as beetles, centipedes, scorpions, caterpillars and occasionally mice. These guys are found throughout Australia, though trying to spot one can be a very tricky exercise as they camouflage very well with the tree trunks they are perched in especially during the day when they are asleep.
